Sanity Breaker NOVA is the official successor to the original SanityBreaker game. It features a lot of additions and improvements, new deprimuses, and support for custom modes. It is described as a tribute to the original game and MisterInfo's BrickBreaker Nova.
Sanity breaker NOVA is significantly harder than the classic game.
The game plays almost exactly like SanityBreaker. The player can control the paddle with the mouse, and has to prevent the ball from touching the void (i.e. bottom wall). The goal is to break all of the bricks with the ball. Multiple deprimuses can spawn on the screen.

The game features a difficulty system. Each difficuly (or game mode) has unique parameters such as spawn rate, deprimus spawn chances, brick strengths, and allowed mechanics.
The game also features Nova mode. By collecting one or more Chromaticus and one Facadus, the player can trigger Nova mode which turns all deprimuses on the screen to Omnideprimus, and also spawns more Omnideprimuses for a time. This is a way to spawn deprimuses which would otherwise not spawn naturally under a specific difficulty.
- Mouse cursor - paddle movement
- Mouse left click / R - Reset game
- Mouse right click - Toggle AI
Just like in the original game, random deprimuses spawn. Every deprimus affects the game in one way or another:
- Deprimus - instantly spawns 2 more random deprimuses
- Fericitus - instantly despawns all deprimuses on the screen and also cancels all deprimus effects including buffs, debuffs, Nostalgicus snapshots and the Traumatizatus counter
- Agillius - doubles the ball speed for
5 seconds
- Chansus - instantly breaks
1 to 3 random bricks
- Ghinionus - instantly respawns
1 to 3 random broken bricks
- Confuscius - inverts the player movement for
5 seconds (on the X axis)
- Crizatus - shows a transparent red screen with Crizatus and gently shakes the camera for
5 seconds
- Nervosus - slightly more pronounced version of Crizatus, shows Nervosus instead of Crizatus
- Curiosus - the ball will chase after deprimuses for
5 seconds
- Ordinarius - the ball will flee from the closest deprimus every frame, for
5 seconds
- Dilius - triples the deprimus spawn chance for
5 seconds
- Disgustus - makes the paddle garnet and changes the game mechanics for
5 seconds: you have to let the ball touch the void
- Inginius - instantly spawns
2 Chansus
- Foolus - instantly spawns
2 Ghinionus
- Hlizatus - shakes the camera greatly for
5 seconds
- Obsedatus - picks a random deprimus type and makes it
100 times more likely to spawn for 5 seconds
- Wheezus - shakes the screen harder than Hlizatus for
5 seconds
- Genius - instantly spawns
2 Inginius, and doubles the spawn chance for Chansus and Inginius for 5 seconds
- Facadus - takes the appearance of another deprimus but has the effect of a different deprimus. After collecting, the Facadus texture is shown for a brief moment. If at least one Chromaticus is active when collecting Facadus, the Nova mode will be triggered
- Chromaticus - makes the ball and paddle colorful for 10 seconds. When hitting the ball, the touching colors must match. Otherwise, there is a high chance that the game will be reset. If multiple Chromaticus are collected, more possible colors are added to the paddle (within a limit imposed by the difficulty). If Disgustus is active, the colors will appear fixed on the bottom wall instead, meaning that the player has no control and must rely purely on luck
- Traumatizatus - increments an internal counter, and deletes the Nostalgicus snapshot. When this counter reaches the limit imposed by the difficulty, the game is reset. Some difficulties have the limit set to
1, meaning that the player loses instantly as soon as they collect one Traumatizatus
- Greedus - instantly collects all deprimuses on the screen at the same time (except other Greedus)
- Nostalgicus - creates a snapshot of the current game state. If another one is collected while a snapshot exists, the game will be reverted to that state. The snapshot can be cleared by collecting Traumatizatus or Fericitus. May lead to infinite time travel loops, forcing the player to restart the game and lose all their progress
- Tristus - rotates the camera by 180 degrees
- Deprimuwus - makes the player follow the ball for 5 seconds. If Disgustus is active, the ball will flee from the player
- Negatus - polymorphs all deprimuses on the screen, replacing them with Facadus. The original effects are preserved (only the appearances are changed)
- Plansus - makes the ball teleport randomly for 10 seconds
- Omnideprimus - turns into a random deprimus upon being collected. The deprimus is chosen uniformly, regardless of the actual difficulty spawn chances. This allows the player to collect deprimuses that don't spawn naturally for that difficulty. Can be spawned by triggering Nova mode
The game features multiple built-in difficulties:
- Fair - similar to the original game, but with the new deprimuses included
- Regular - many mechanics are restricted, significantly harder than Fair
- Lunatic - downright impossible, good deprimuses can't spawn
- Color Madness - more Chromaticus spawn
- Default - the default game mode, same as Regular but without some challenging bits
- Disoriented - more Confuscius and Tristus spawn
- Express - more Agillius spawn and the tick delay is decreased
- Express+ - the tick delay is significantly decreased
- Fair Lunatic - like Lunatic, but all deprimuses have the same spawn chance
- Fair Regular - like Regular, but all deprimuses have the same spawn chance
- Mood Swings - more Deprimus, Negatus and Greedus spawn
- Nostalgia Drive - more Nostalgicus and Traumatizatus spawn, Fericitus can't spawn naturally
- Omnideprimus - only Omnideprimus can spawn
- Red Tunnel - more Nervosus and Crizatus spawn naturally
- Trivial - more Genius spawn, all mechanics are allowed
- UwU - more Deprimuwus spawn
