DungeonElites is a beat 'em up game developed by AndrewIGD. Your objective is to defeat all 5 dungeon and then the final boss. The game features 5 different characters, such as:
Each of these 5 characters has 8 different abilities to choose from. One said character can only choose 3 abilities. Most of these abilities are used for damage, but there are some utility abilities as well.
Upon launching the game, you are greeted with 3 buttons: Play Dungeon, Duel and Exit.
Upon launching the dungeon, players are greeted with the Shops, in which they select their abilities. Each character has one shop, but other characters can also buy or select abilities for them.
There are 5 dungeons in total:
Each of these dungeon differ from each other not only visually, but also structurally. Each dungeon features a few textures that are used for bifurcating rooms or changing their direction.
Monsters in these dungeons are the same as the player, except they are much weaker, and they don't have the skill of the player, so this enables the player to kill mobs in masses. The stats and AI of these mobs get stronger every time a player defeats a dungeon. Mobs can get:
These monsters drop xp and gold. Xp is given procedurally to the players, depending on how much damage they've done to said mob. Gold is dropped on death, and is shared with all players.
The void can be found in the dungeon randomly. It has a lot of health, and whenever a quarter of the void's health drops, it spawns a wave of monsters. These monsters die when the void later gets destroyed. The xp of these dead monsters go to the person who last hit the void. The void also has a chance of dropping an item.
The stat shop can also be found randomly on the map. You can upgrade your stats with him. For 100 gold, you buy one stat point from him, and then you can use it to upgrade one of your stats. A player can only buy 6 status points in one dungeon. Such statuses are:
The wizard also spawns on the map randomly. The wizard sells 3 items for 300 gold each. He cannot sell 2 items that are identical. Some of these item are:
The boss represents a more buffed version of a mob. So buffed in fact, that he has 5x the health, and can also use abilities that a player could use. The boss functions in the same manner as the void does, the only difference being that he doesn't drop items. Upon the boss' death, the player may use the teleport pad to go to the next dungeon.
Whenever a player levels up, he can upgrade an ability. Abilities can be upgraded 5 times, after that, they get mastered, marked with an 'M' in the inventory. If the player wishes to upgrade even further, they would have to perfect said ability using a mastery point gathered from books. A master point grants 3x more bonuses than a regular upgrade point. Perfected abilities cannot be upgraded any further.
After completing all 5 dungeons, the player should face the final boss. No one knows if it is possible to get to the final boss, let alone know what he does or what happens when you defeat him. All information about the final boss is unknown until one player shall defeat the game.
In duel, players battle each other untill only one team remains alive. Players can only choose 3 abilities, but everyone can choose the same character. Players can be on the same team, or be separated. Duels last for 4 matches, and then the players have to choose their layout again.
Revolutionized by AndrewIGD himself, the dexterity on archer meme was born when he kept saying that he maxed dexterity on archer, and that enemies couldn't even touch him. This meme may be used when someone talks about meta in a game.
Example usage:
This one appeared when MisterInfo said that he couldn't play DungeonElites online because he was going to have lag. AndrewIGD being pretty enraged at the time, said: "In DungeonElites, there's no lag, just skill". It was then that the infamous meme was born. This meme may be used when someone complains about something.
Example usage:
Red dungeon is known as a meme because of AndrewIGD's poor optimizations. It was believed that the lag came from how many lights there were on the scene, but it turned out it was just poor script optimization. This meme may be used when someone says something about bad FPS.
Example usage:
Since the 5 levels of the dungeon were already difficult, UW once sent a fake photo of a map loading screen, saying he reached chapter two of DungeonElites. It was then, that this meme got born. This meme may be used whenever someone mentions about their achievement in DungeonElites.
Not to be confused with r/whoosh
UW was playing Dungeon Elites one night (snapshot 20w35a0). He farmed most of the first dungeon for 45 minutes, and was ready for the boss fight. The boss turned out to be a wizard, who attacked him with a fireball swirl and finished him off immediately with the wind spell (making a whoosh sound). Seeing how fast he lost (to a whoosh sound), UW was baffled. This meme may be used when someone is overconfident.
While playing Dungeon Elites, UW was planning to kill a Heavy boss, but faced a bug present in the 20w35a0 snapshot which made the boss invulnerable at 0 hp. He used all of his spells, including stun, but they were all useless. The boss proceeded to attack him back just like nothing happened. The original video is available here. This meme may be used when someone wants to attack you, but their attempt is useless.
When playing Dungeon Elites, Andrew encouraged MetaShifter whos playing the medic to upgrade his health status, knowing that his healing would scale. Unfortunately for them, the heal scaling was 2% at the time, and the heal instead of giving 205 health, it gave 206, being very dissapointing for them.
